Samsung began testing the One UI 8.5 interface some time ago, and although things are not going ideally, a new leak revealed a detailed list of upcoming features in this major update.

Tarun Vats posted the full changelog, which shows significant improvements in DeX, as the interface will remember the size and location of app windows when they are reopened.

The battery will also get a new information screen that displays the remaining time, charging status, and a daily usage report for an entire week. In addition, the power saving mode will offer two new options: standard and maximum to reduce power consumption more effectively.

Regarding data sharing, Samsung will provide more flexible methods through Quick Share, as a special mode for receiving only will appear, allowing files to be received from devices that log in to your Samsung or Google account.

On the other hand, Quick Share will rely on facial recognition to suggest sharing photos with the people shown in them.

Samsung is also working on enhancing integration between devices. You will be able to share storage space and access your phone’s files across your tablet or PC and vice versa.

You’ll also be able to display your phone’s files on Samsung TVs, making browsing photos and videos at home even easier.

These advantages come in conjunction with Samsung’s move to move away from Microsoft OneDrive and rely more on Samsung Cloud. Plus, you’ll be able to mirror your phone’s screen to TVs and other Samsung devices more seamlessly.

Auracast will have additional benefits, including the ability to broadcast your voice directly to speakers and speakers that support this technology.

Of course, the smart features will receive a big package of updates. Bixby will become more capable of quickly adjusting settings and accessing features, and it will also become smarter at answering questions with the addition of conversation history.

As for the Galaxy AI Photo Assist editor, it will allow you to create and modify images without having to save each version, with the ability to return to previous versions thanks to the modification history.

The record includes many other improvements, such as new customization options, additional anti-theft features, and important improvements to Samsung Health.

One UI 8.5 is expected to be launched in conjunction with the unveiling of the Galaxy S26 series in late January, and will later arrive on a wide range of Galaxy S, Z, A and other devices, but the actual launch date is still unknown.
