Dr. Mohamed Farid, Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, announced the ministry’s intention to launch a unified digital platform for foreign trade, within the framework of the state’s plan for digital transformation and developing the business environment.

The new platform aims to integrate and digitize all services related to the export and import system through a single electronic interface, which contributes to simplifying procedures and reducing the time and effort required to complete various commercial transactions.

The Minister stressed that the project comes within a comprehensive strategy to improve the efficiency of foreign trade movement and enhance the competitiveness of the Egyptian economy, by reducing administrative complications and facilitating companies’ dealings with various government agencies.

He explained that the platform relies on data integration between concerned parties, which allows the flow of information more accurately and quickly, helps support decision-making and improves the efficiency of business operations. It also contributes to raising the readiness of Egyptian companies to access global markets more effectively.

The minister’s statements came during a meeting with leaders of the global Citibank Group in Washington, where the state’s efforts were reviewed in developing the digital infrastructure and supporting investment in the trade and financial services sector, in a way that enhances the attractiveness of the Egyptian market to international institutions.

Through this step, the government aims to enhance digital transformation in the foreign trade sector, reduce customs clearance time, and increase the competitiveness of Egyptian exports in global markets, in a way that supports sustainable economic growth plans.
