It seems that Samsung has already settled on a specific date for the launch of its new summer lineup, which this time will include three different models of foldable phones. The planned lineup includes both the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, in addition to an entirely new phone that will be a direct competitor to Apple’s first foldable phone, as it comes with a wider and more compact design. In recent days, the designs of the three Samsung phones for the year 2026 were leaked, as the new version, which may bear the name Galaxy Z Wide Fold, attracted the most attention because it puts the company in direct competition with the Apple phone expected to be launched next September, along with the iPhone 18 Pro series of phones.
Samsung is moving at a much faster pace than its competitor, as it is expected, as usual, that the next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held during the middle of the summer, and a recent leak from South Korea, citing industry sources, indicated that the actual date and location of the event have been determined. According to these leaks, the next main launch event will be held on Wednesday, July 22, and it appears that London will host the event this time. Despite these fine details, there is no official confirmation from Samsung yet, which keeps this information pending.
Based on the leaked computer-aided designs, the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7 or the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip7 is not expected to see radical design changes. In contrast, Samsung will enter a completely new area with the compact Galaxy Z Wide Fold phone, which is expected to feature a 7.6-inch AMOLED screen when open and supports a 4:3 aspect ratio, while the 5.4-inch outer cover screen will be noticeably smaller than the company’s previous phones that adopt the book design. It is expected that this phone will be 0.39 inches thick, relying on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, but it will only have a dual camera setup.
