MobiView has launched a new crowdfunding campaign on the Kickstarter platform for its upcoming product, a portable display that can be used as a smart TV or computer monitor. The campaign continues for an additional month, and has so far succeeded in raising about $23,800.
The company allows those wishing to reserve a unit at a price of $499, which represents a 29% discount, according to the company’s statements. However, the usual risks associated with crowdfunding campaigns should be taken into account. Global shipments are expected to begin during March 2026.
The MobiView screen is a versatile portable solution that can be relied upon for gaming, work, and streaming content. The company seeks to distinguish its product from competitors through light weight and ease of transportation, as the screen weighs about 12 pounds, and it features a bag-like design with a built-in handle that allows it to be easily carried from one place to another.
The screen displays content via a 27-inch panel with an FHD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a 60 Hz refresh rate and a brightness of up to 400 nits. The audio system plays sound through four speakers, two with a power of 8 watts and two with a power of 4 watts, with support for Dolby Audio technology.
At the internal specifications level, the screen includes 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, in addition to a huge 38,400 mAh battery, which is expected to provide up to five hours of continuous use.
However, MobiView is not a traditional TV with a channel tuner, but rather relies on the Google TV system built on Android 14, which makes it primarily intended for online streaming services. The system provides access to most popular streaming applications such as Netflix, Disney Plus, and others.
In terms of connectivity, the screen supports connecting to the Internet via WiFi or Ethernet, and also includes HDMI 2.1, USB 2.0, and headphones output ports.
Finally, the company offers the possibility of optionally adding a 2K HD webcam, which is offered in a separate package with the portable monitor.
