The Finnish company Jolla announced a new phone after a long period of absence, bearing the name Jolla Phone and presented as a “standalone European Linux phone with a Do It Together approach.”
The phone comes with a clear promise: a tracking-free experience, without a hidden connection to corporate servers, and without unannounced analytics. The device is based on Sailfish OS 5, which Jolla confirms is currently the only European system for phones, with the possibility of completely removing Google services despite its support for Android applications.
Technically, the phone runs on a high-performance MediaTek processor, and comes with 12GB of 256GB of memory, expandable via microSD. It also has a 6.36-inch AMOLED screen with FullHD resolution and 390 pixels per inch with a Gorilla Glass protection layer.
It includes a 50MP main camera and a 13MP wide camera, while the details of the selfie camera have not yet been revealed.

The Jolla Phone also features a removable 5500 mAh battery, with a changeable back cover in three colors: white, black and orange.
Additional features include: a fingerprint sensor, NFC and 5G support, dual SIM cards, along with a physical privacy switch that completely turns off the camera, microphone, and Bluetooth. The company pledges to provide support for the system for a period of no less than five years.
Despite the announcement, production of the phone will not begin unless it receives 2,000 pre-orders before January 4, 2026. It has already exceeded 1,200 orders, which increases the chances of it entering the production line.
Users can reserve the device by paying €99, while its full price is €499. If the required number is not reached, the company will return the amount to applicants.
The phone is expected to ship by the end of the first half of 2026, with availability in the United Kingdom, Norway, Switzerland, and the European Union, to be later extended to other markets upon request.
