The latest leaks indicate that Apple is close to entering the foldable phone market for the first time, with a phone tentatively known as the iPhone Fold, which is expected to be announced later this year in conjunction with the iPhone 18 Pro series. This new information sheds light on the phone’s design and the materials the company may rely on.

According to the leak, Apple plans to use a hinge made of a substance known as liquid metal, a substance that the company has reportedly been experimenting with for more than 15 years. This choice is expected to contribute to enhancing the durability of the joint and reducing stress at the folding point, which may improve the life of the phone in the long term.

At the same time, the main body of the phone is expected to be made of a new type of titanium, which is stronger and lighter compared to the titanium used in modern iPhones.

In terms of dimensions, it is rumored that the phone will come with an unconventional design, with an internal screen measuring 7.76 inches, along with an external screen measuring 5.49 inches. The leaks also indicate that it will be equipped with two rear cameras, with the possibility of it being put on the market during the first quarter of 2027.
