Google announced the expansion of the AirDrop support feature within Quick Share to include more of its devices, after it was first introduced with the Pixel 10 series last year with the aim of facilitating file sharing with iPhone users.
The company confirmed in an official post on the X platform that the feature will arrive in the Pixel 9 series within the next few days. Supported devices include the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Thus, Pixel 9 phones will be able to share files with iPhones directly via Quick Share, whether through a new software update or by activating the feature on the server side.
In the same context, Google explained that it plans to make compatibility with AirDrop available on a broader scale, to include other Android devices outside the Pixel series in the future.
