Fiio has released the Snowsky Disc, a small digital audio player with support for high-resolution audio and balanced headphones. The DAP runs a custom version of Linux and can store up to 2TB of music on a microSD card.

Fiio has launched the Snowsky Disc digital audio player for high-resolution audiophiles who own balanced headphones. The compact Snowsky Disc player measures 68 x 68 x 12.9 mm (2.7 x 2.7 x 0.5 inches) and weighs 77.2 grams (2.7 ounces). Owners can connect 3.5mm unbalanced and 4.4mm balanced wired headphones, as well as wireless Bluetooth headphones, to the Snowsky Disc to enjoy high-resolution music, with support for Hi-Res Audio, DSD128, and 32-bit, 768kHz PCM music playback. The wired outputs feature a signal-to-noise ratio of over 129dB and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). Less than 0.0003%.

The USB-C port can be used to connect the Snowsky Disc to a computer as an external sound card or to external DAC adapters and headphone amplifiers. The Disc also has a coaxial output for connecting to home audio systems, and has AirPlay and Roon support for wireless streaming through home speakers. Users can control the player using a 1.8-inch touchscreen, which can display a rotating album cover during playback to simulate the look of a turntable, and Fiio says the player is rated to run for up to 12 hours of playback time before its 1,450 mAh battery needs to be recharged. Readers can purchase the Fiio Snowsky Disc DAP player for $87.99 on Amazon in black, blue, or pink.
