As has been rumored, Apple has officially selected Google’s Gemini models to power the all-new AI-powered version of Siri.
This decision came as part of a multi-year partnership, during which Apple will rely on Gemini technologies and Google’s cloud infrastructure to develop future Apple Foundation Models, according to a statement obtained by CNBC.
In this context, Apple explained that, after a careful evaluation process, it saw that Google technology provides the most efficient and powerful foundation for its basic models, stressing that this cooperation will open the door to innovative and new experiences for its users during the coming period.
Following the announcement of the partnership, shares of both Apple and Google witnessed a significant rise in the markets. This development comes after a series of postponements that affected the launch of Siri, powered by artificial intelligence. Last March, Apple acknowledged one of these postponements, indicating at the time that the new version would be released “during the next year,” a date that was only about two months away.

However, Apple has not yet revealed any official details regarding the final schedule for launching Siri in its new look.
