Apple recently confirmed that it relies on Google’s Gemini models to power its Siri voice assistant, along with using Google Cloud technologies to build its own core models. Now, a new report reveals the features of the benefits expected from this partnership.
Apple explained that the Gemini models will work directly on the device with support for Private Cloud Compute technology, without going into additional details. However, the report indicates that Apple has the authority to request specific modifications from Google to the Gemini model, as well as the possibility of adjusting and improving it independently to provide responses that are consistent with its style and the user experience it is targeting.
In the same context, the report stated that the beta version of Siri based on Gemini does not include any references or trademarks to Google or Gemini, with the possibility that this will change before the official launch if Apple decides otherwise.
It is expected that the developed Siri will provide direct and clear answers instead of simply displaying links when asking general questions, and it is also expected that her capabilities in emotional interaction will improve through more natural and humane responses during the conversation.
Also, the new Siri is likely to deal better with unclear questions, as she will try to understand what is meant and provide a useful response instead of just the usual statement of not understanding.
So far, Apple has not announced an official timeline for the launch of Gemini-powered Siri. According to the report, the new features will be rolled out gradually, with some features arriving during the WWDC 2026 conference, with other features appearing in the spring of the same year.
