Today, YouTube announced its official entry into the annual summaries race, after being preceded by Spotify and the rest of the competing services. The Google-owned platform has begun offering YouTube Recap to North American users, with it arriving in the rest of the world before the end of this week.
Once the summary is available, it appears directly on the home page or within the You tab. Recap offers a different way to highlight your interests, viewing depth, and moments you explored during 2025, based on your viewing history.

It displays up to 12 various cards, highlighting the most watched channels, the interests they focused on, and the development of viewing habits throughout the year. It also reveals your “personality type” based on the videos you preferred to follow.
If you listened to a lot of music on YouTube this year, Recap shows you a list of the artists and songs you listened to most, with the ability to delve into genres, podcasts, and even a glimpse into your global music listening within the YouTube Music app.
