The Civil Protection Forces in Qalyubia Governorate, under the supervision of Major General Ashraf Gaballah, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Qalyubia Security Sector, were able to control a massive fire that broke out inside a cotton and fabric recycling factory in the village of Al-Aqrasha in the city of Al-Khanka, without causing human casualties.
Major General Haitham Shehata, Director of the Civil Protection Department in Qalyubia, had received a notification from the operations room stating that a fire had broken out inside the factory. Civil protection forces immediately moved to the site of the report, and 6 fire engines and 2 water tanks with a capacity of 15 tons were dispatched, in addition to ambulances.
Thanks to the efforts of civil protection personnel, the flames were controlled and prevented from spreading to neighboring facilities, in order to preserve the lives and property of citizens.
The forces are currently continuing cooling work to ensure that the fire does not renew.
A report was drawn up on the incident, while the Public Prosecution took over the investigation and ordered the forensic laboratory to be assigned to determine the cause of the fire, with the investigations to be expedited.
