The US special envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, confirmed that he had a fruitful meeting with the current Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani.

The meeting came at a time when Iraq is still awaiting the formation of its new government, amid American opposition to the nomination of Nouri al-Maliki.

Barak called for the necessity of having an effective leadership that adopts policies to enhance stability in Iraq, considering that this matter is essential for achieving the common goals between the two countries.

He pointed out that he discussed with the Sudanese Shiites the goals of building a future in line with Trump’s peace plan.

It is noteworthy that Barak took over the Iraqi file instead of Mark Savaya, according to what was confirmed by Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.
