During an interview filmed in London, Swift, 35, was clearly moved when she said: I thought this tour would be the proudest thing in my life, and it never occurred to me that we might face a terrorist plot.
She added that the tour, which achieved record success, went through a series of violent and frightening moments, stressing that her team and crew survived a real massacre.
Swift appeared in the documentary recalling the details of the tense moments after the widespread security frustration that prevented the attack, and explaining the impact of the incident on her and her team’s ability to complete the tour, before moving to the British capital to resume performances a few days later.
The documentary is not limited to the events of Vienna only, as the artist also reviews one of the most cruel moments in her career: the horrific stabbing incident in Southport, England, during a party inspired by her work in July 2024, which resulted in the killing of three young girls and the injury of ten others.
Swift indicated that she was finding it very difficult to talk about the incident in the documentary, to the point that she was forced to stop filming after she was overcome with tears. I promised myself not to cry in front of the families of the victims, but to be smiling and strong, but it was very difficult.
