
The representative of Somalia, the current President of the UN Security Council, announced that the Council will hold a meeting today to discuss developments in the situation in Iran, based on a request submitted by the United States.
According to the announcement, Council members are scheduled to receive an official briefing on the current developments in Iran, amid escalating international interest in the internal situation and its regional repercussions.
It is expected that the meeting will constitute a platform for reviewing current diplomatic and security assessments, without confirmation yet whether the discussion will pave the way for movements or steps within the Council regarding the Iranian file.
