The activities of the second session of the Fayoum Film Festival will begin on Tuesday, November 25, and will continue until November 30, 2025, under the slogan “Cinema and Contemporary Arts for the Environment,” with wide participation from filmmakers and artists from various countries of the world.
The Fayoum Film Festival had announced the details of the films participating in the festival, which will witness the screening of 60 films from 22 countries.
Official competition
The festival’s official competition includes 7 films Long ones are: “Corbarion” from Morocco, “Adam’s Songs” from the United States of America, “Ziziyat” from Mexico, “The Lost House” from Romania, “Uganda… Umayyad Formation” from Uganda, “Agora” from Tunisia, and “Enciso… Traces of Memory” from Spain.”
Short film competition
The short film competition includes 31 films: “Yalla Ajla,” “Cairo,” “I Am the Sunflower,” “Nata,” “Mal Qarun,” “Umm al-Dunya,” “Homeless,” “Harir Naqada” from Egypt, “The Wheat” from Morocco, “Taht al-Khatt” from the United States, “Mirrors” from Morocco, “Girls” from Iran, “Ya Hanouni” from France, and “Al-Ahed” from Tunisia. Syria, “Dark Forest” from the Czech Republic, “Fish and Cheese” from Germany, and “Marash” from Yemen.
The list also includes: “Thawban” from Svalbard, “Gutley Man” from India, “2050” from Lebanon, “Land Art” from Tunisia, “First Day of Winter” from Slovenia, “Bitter Honey” from Russia, “Hahda” from Saudi Arabia, “Bayan Khosh” from Iran, “Maybe Under the Sky” from Egypt and France, “In a Moment” and “The Last Field” from Palestine and “What Grew.” From Portugal, “Where the Stars Rest” from India, and “Ghasuf…Old Ghadames” from Libya.
Student film competition
In a special program, 22 films from Egyptian students compete: “Howling,” “Illusion,” “Absent Hope,” “Lailat Ma’awin,” “What’s Remaining,” “Just a Shadow,” “Dreamer, Confused, and Dies Every Day,” “Shadow of the Alleys,” “What Next,” “Uncle Fikry’s Thoughts,” “He Plays with Me,” “Sitt Basmaya,” “Look, Father, I Can Fly,” “My Mother’s Last Gift,” and “Outside the Box.” And “Solo Recycling,” “Victoria’s Secret,” “Tajali,” “Raqouda,” “The Plant of the Earth,” “In Upper Egypt,” and “Shallow Depth.”
