The real-time monitoring of developments in the weather condition continues, with expectations of continued chances of rain falling during the coming hours in areas of the north of the country, according to the latest updates.

Today, Monday, the country is witnessing a rapid state of instability in weather conditions, accompanied by chances of rain of varying intensity falling over large areas of the north of the country extending to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, with a noticeable drop in temperatures in most areas, and active winds that increase the feeling of cold weather.

It is expected that moderate rain, which may be heavy at times, will fall on areas of the northern coasts and Lower Egypt, and may be accompanied by thunderstorm activity at intermittent intervals. The forecast also indicates chances of light to moderate rain in the evening in areas of Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, North and Central Sinai, in addition to some areas of North Upper Egypt, especially Fayoum and Beni Suef, with the possibility of it being heavy and thundery at times with an incidence rate of approximately 30%.

Dust-laden winds and high sea waves

Winds are active over most parts of the Republic, and may cause sand and dust, especially in the southern regions of the country, the Red Sea, and the Western Desert, which may lead to a deterioration in horizontal visibility.

Some areas of the coast of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Suez are also witnessing disturbance in maritime traffic, with wind speeds ranging between 45 and 65 km/h, and wave heights ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 metres.

As for temperatures, the high in Greater Cairo is expected to reach about 19 degrees Celsius.

Forecasts warned that thunderclouds may be accompanied by sudden strong winds and lightning activity, with chances of hailstones falling in some areas with an incidence rate of approximately 30%, calling on citizens to follow up on updates and take the necessary precautions to preserve public safety.
