Some cafes and restaurants on the Alexandria Corniche Road were severely damaged as a result of the wind storm that the governorate was exposed to yesterday, Friday, until Saturday morning.
Surveillance cameras of restaurants, which were circulated on social media pages, captured footage of the damage to the restaurants, including the breaking of the glass facades as a result of the force of the waves accompanied by strong winds, and their crossing of concrete barriers and beaches.
The storm also caused some of the contents in those restaurants to break and shatter, including in a restaurant gathering area on Sidi Gaber Corniche in Alexandria and also in El Shatby.

Since last Thursday evening, Alexandria has witnessed heavy rains accompanied by strong winds, which prompted the executive authorities to raise the state of alert to deal with the repercussions of the nuclear storm.
For his part, Engineer Sami Qandil, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Sanitation Company, conducted a field visit during the current period to follow up on the readiness of the centers, emergency vehicles, and operation and maintenance teams, and reviewed plans for immediate dealing with rainwater accumulations, directing the necessity of continuing real-time follow-up, to ensure speed of response and maintain the efficiency of the sanitation system.
The sanitation company raised the maximum level of preparedness in all sectors, with the deployment of about 150 vehicles and equipment at the governorate level, to deal with any emergencies that may arise during the crisis, to follow up on performance on the ground, and to ensure the provision of stable and safe service to citizens throughout the period of weather fluctuations.
