Today, the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced the opening of an official investigation after receiving reports about the occurrence of what was described as “massacres” in Al-Hasakah Governorate, northeast of the country, stressing that it treats the information received with the utmost seriousness.

The Ministry said in a statement published on its official platforms that it is following the reports circulating about the events in Al-Hasakah “with great interest,” noting that the competent authorities immediately initiated investigation procedures and verified the veracity of what was circulated, without revealing additional details regarding the nature of the incidents or the possible parties involved.

In a simultaneous security development, the Interior Ministry announced that its security units had begun entering the neighboring city of Raqqa, as part of an organized deployment plan that includes various neighborhoods of the city, and aims to enhance security and stability and protect civilians and their property.

For his part, Interior Minister Anas Khattab confirmed, in a post on the “X” platform, that the security forces are deploying “with high efficiency” in the areas that the Syrian army recently entered, explaining that these steps come within the tasks of securing the people, imposing stability, and maintaining public order.

These security movements come after the announcement of an agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which stipulates a ceasefire and the start of the process of integrating Kurdish formations into the structures of the Syrian army, which was considered an important shift in the course of the security and military file in the northeast of the country.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that its measures fall within its ongoing efforts to control the security situation in various governorates, and to create a safe and stable environment for all citizens, in light of a stage witnessing rapid field and political changes in the region.
