Today, Saturday, January 10, 2026, the exchange rate of the US dollar against the Egyptian pound recorded remarkable stability within a number of government and private banks operating in the Egyptian sector. This stability came after a green decline in the banking market beginning in the new year, as the dollar recorded a new decline yesterday by about 10 piasters.
The price of the dollar against the pound today
The average exchange rate of the US dollar within the Central Bank of Egypt was about 47.19 pounds for purchase and 47.33 pounds for sale.
The exchange rate of the US dollar at the National Bank of Egypt was about 47.15 pounds for purchase and 47.25 pounds for sale, compared to 47.25 pounds for purchase and 47.35 pounds for sale in previous transactions.
The price of the dollar in Banque Misr also fell by 10 piasters, reaching 47.13 pounds for purchase and 47.23 pounds for sale, compared to 47.23 pounds for purchase and 47.33 pounds for sale in the last recorded transactions.
The dollar recorded its lowest levels during today’s trading at Emirates NBD Bank, where it reached 47.04 pounds for purchase and 47.14 pounds for sale, a decrease of 0.23% compared to its last price.
On the other hand, the highest price for the US currency was recorded during morning trading at the Export Development Bank, at 47.32 pounds for purchase and 47.42 pounds for sale, which reflects the disparity in exchange rates between banks in the local market.
