The National Council for People with Disabilities launches comprehensive programs to support families
Karim explained, during television statements, that the most prominent of these initiatives is My Family, My Power, which was launched 3 years ago under the auspices of Mrs. Intisar al-Sisi, wife of the President, and which aims to support families and provide health, economic and educational empowerment for children with disabilities, pointing out that the initiative included therapeutic convoys, vocational training in handicrafts, and marketing support for families’ products, in addition to awareness and training programs to deal with children’s abilities correctly, while providing psychological and legal support when needed.
She stressed that the Council is coordinating with various parties to ensure the integration of persons with disabilities into society, including their empowerment in the labor market in accordance with Egyptian laws, such as the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law No. 10 of 2018, and the new Labor Law No. 14 of 2025, to ensure that they have fair opportunities in training and employment while following up on the implementation of the prescribed recruitment rates and vocational training in specialized centers and mobile units that reach families in their local communities.
She explained that these efforts aim to instill the concept of the human being before disability and to consolidate the societal integration of people with disabilities, in a way that enhances their effective participation in all areas of life.
