Damietta Governorate witnessed a painful incident after the death of the child, Muhammad Majed Hamed Al-Junaidi, who was 3 and a half years old, inside a private hospital, while undergoing a simple medical procedure to fill a tooth, amid accusations of a medical error related to an overdose of anesthesia.
Her family: The mother of the youngest child in Damietta collapsed… and entered into a difficult psychological state, mourning his passing.
Al-Saghir’s family told Cairo 24 that they are in a state of great shock and sadness over Al-Saghir’s separation.
She explained that the mother’s psychological condition had deteriorated significantly, which required her to be referred to a psychiatrist to avoid any complications.
Earlier, the little boy’s father said that the treating doctor decided to perform a simple surgical intervention under general anesthesia, at a cost exceeding 30 thousand pounds, reassuring the family of the safety of the procedure despite the child’s young age.
The father explained on social media platforms that his son entered the operating room to perform a front molar filling, but a state of tension prevailed among the medical staff some time after the operation began, before the family was informed of the child’s death, as a result of an overdose of anesthesia that caused him to stop breathing.
The child’s father indicated that the doctor and some members of the medical staff left the hospital after the incident, demanding that all those responsible be held accountable for the mistake that claimed his son’s life.
