She announced Ministry of Labor Within the framework of joint cooperation between the Central Administration for Training, Orascom, and the labor directorates within the scope of those projects, the directorates began issuing certificates measuring the skill level and craft practice cards for thousands of participating workers.
Wael Abdel Sabour, Director General of Training Centers Affairs at the Ministry, stated that a total of 5,326 certificates and cards have been issued so far, distributed as follows:
Cairo: 1,450 workers, Alexandria: 1,200 workers, Marsa Matrouh: 2,164 workers, Giza: 512 workers.
Abdel Sabour stated that this measure comes within the Ministry’s ambitious plan that aims to document the skills of 22,000 workers working in huge national projects that include: the Abu Qir Metro in Alexandria, the fourth line of the Greater Cairo Metro, the East Nile Monorail, and the high-speed train.
The Ministry confirmed that these certificates and cards, which are granted after workers pass the necessary tests under the supervision of the Central Administration for Vocational Training, are a pivotal step to ensure quality performance in national projects, in addition to achieving inclusion in social protection in preparation for including uninsured workers in the protection system provided by the Ministry, and considering the “skill level” and “craft practice” certificates as basic justifications for appointment or work in any other location, which opens new horizons for employment.
The Ministry will work to include a number of these workers in the Ministry’s irregular employment system, allowing them to be provided with support and care, within the framework of the plan to expand the irregular employment database nationwide to protect them and in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.
