Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, inspected the “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition at the Battersea Power Station Hall in the British capital, London, which will continue until August 30, 2026, hours before its official opening.
The minister’s tour came to inspect the final touches in preparation for the official opening of the exhibition and receiving visitors from the public, starting on February 28.

He also inspected the pavilion of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion located inside the exhibition and the promotional materials and pictures it contains of the Egyptian tourist destination, in addition to a screen to display propaganda films to promote Egypt throughout the duration of the exhibition.



Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs in its seventh stop in London
The exhibition includes 180 artifacts, most notably the coffin of King Ramses II from the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and a number of artifacts from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir from the era of King Ramses II, in addition to pieces from the finds of the Egyptian mission in the Bubastiyun area in Saqqara, and collectibles from a number of Egyptian museums, highlighting the distinctive characteristics of ancient Egyptian civilization from the era of the Middle Kingdom until the late era, through a variety of statues, jewelry, cosmetics, and paintings. And stone blocks decorated with engravings, in addition to a number of colorful wooden coffins.
The exhibition achieved great success during its overseas trip, which began in November 2021 in Houston, then moved to San Francisco in August 2022, then to the French capital, Paris, in April 2023, and from there to Sydney, Australia, in November 2023, then to Cologne, Germany, in July 2024, then to Tokyo, Japan, in 2025, to begin its new journey in London.
During his tour, the Minister was accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, Dr. Hisham El-Laithi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Rana Gohar, Advisor to the Minister for Communication and External Relations and General Supervisor of the General Administration of International Relations and Agreements, Dr. Gamal Mostafa, Advisor to the Secretary-General for Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Affairs, Saeed Shebl, Head of the Central Administration for Museum Stores, Mohamed Mohsen, Director of the Americas and the Iberian Peninsula Unit at the Authority, and Yasmine Sami, Secretary. First at the Egyptian Embassy in London, in addition to the work team of the company organizing the exhibition.
