Ambassador Mahmoud Karem, President of the National Council for Human Rights, cast his vote this Monday morning, in the 2025 House of Representatives elections, inside his electoral committee at Salah El-Din Primary School in the Fifth Settlement.

Karem stressed that the electoral process represents one of the most important areas for peaceful expression of the will of citizens, and that conscious participation reflects society’s respect for its constitutional rights and its keenness to enhance transparency and openness in political life, adding that broad participation gives the electoral process its true meaning as a direct expression of the presence of citizens in the public sphere and their ability to influence the course of public affairs and their daily issues.
The President of the Council explained that the elections represent the exercise of a basic right linked to the dignity of the citizen and his right to choose who represents him, pointing out that ensuring the integrity of the electoral process begins with providing a facilitating environment for voters, respecting freedom of choice, and providing clear information to public opinion at the various stages of voting.
He pointed out that the Council is following the electoral process from a human rights perspective, with a focus on supporting efforts aimed at securing voting guarantees, receiving feedback, and working to enhance citizens’ confidence in the electoral process, stressing that positive participation remains an essential element in any real democratic development, and that the voice of every citizen contributes to shaping the political future of the country.
