Contract engineer Karim Badawi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, held a meeting with Engineer Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Faqih, CEO of the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), at the company’s headquarters, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Egyptian and Saudi companies in various petrochemical projects, during his current visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Minister praised the role of SABIC as one of the largest international companies in the field of petrochemical industries and the most influential in developing the manufacturing and chemical industries, stressing the company’s distinction and leadership position in supplying many industrial sectors with basic materials, including the automotive, construction, electronics, agriculture, and packaging sectors.

The Minister stressed the depth of the strategic relations between Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the joint keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation in the fields of petrochemicals and fertilizers, as well as to expand manufacturing projects.

The Minister pointed out that Egypt has promising investment opportunities in a number of petroleum and petrochemical projects, especially in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the Gulf of Suez and El Alamein regions on the Mediterranean Sea. He explained that among these opportunities are important projects that include a project for silicone products, the Egyptian Soda Ash Company project, the Egyptian Sustainable Jet Fuel Company project, in addition to the Red Sea Petrochemical Company project. These projects represent attractive opportunities for regional and international partnerships and support the state’s plans to expand in… Complementary industries and increasing the added value of resources.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources for Projects, the heads of Petrojet and Enppi companies, the Vice President of the Egypt Gas Company, and a number of SABIC leaders.
