Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of the Environment, held an expanded meeting with representatives of the Long Live Egypt Fund, to discuss ways to enhance investment to support eco-tourism in natural reserves, within the framework of the state’s direction towards maximizing economic benefit from natural resources while preserving their environmental and geological value, in the presence of a number of leaders from the Ministry of the Environment.

Dr. Manal Awad explained that the meeting discussed ways to develop natural reserves and raise their operational efficiency, which contributes to attracting environmental investments and promoting sustainable tourism, while preserving biodiversity and preserving the unique environmental characteristics of each reserve, in order to achieve sustainable development goals.
Dr. Manal Awad confirmed that the meeting discussed the proposal to establish paved and designated corridors for the movement of electric cars within the reserves, in a way that ensures ease of movement for visitors and workers without harming the environmental nature, noting that the environmental paths approved by the reserve administrations were scrutinized and identified to maximize their use in operational operations.
She added that the meeting also included discussing the expansion of renewable energy uses, especially solar energy within natural reserves, as it is one of the basic pillars of sustainable management, which contributes to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing reliance on clean energy sources.
Dr. Manal Awad also stressed the necessity of preparing an integrated study to design the entrances to natural reserves, in a way that reflects the distinct environmental and geological identity of each reserve, and contributes to improving the visual image and raising the level of services provided to visitors, with full compliance with environmental standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister of Local Development and the Acting Minister of the Environment directed the preparation of an integrated environmental study for the project, which includes identifying the raw materials and materials used in implementation, in line with the nature of each reserve, and ensuring the preservation of its natural resources and environmental value.
