Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno met, Minister of Cultureby Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, at the Governor’s General Office, within the framework of enhancing joint cooperation between the Ministry of Culture and Luxor Governorate, in a way that contributes to supporting the national identity, revitalizing the cultural and artistic movement, and maximizing the benefit from the unique heritage and historical components that the governorate abounds with.
This came in the presence of Major General Khaled Al-Labban, Assistant Minister of Culture for the Presidency of the General Authority for Culture Palaces, Sami Ayyad, Advisor to the Ministry of Culture for Visual Identity, and Dr. Hisham Abu Zeid, Deputy Governor of Luxor.
The Minister of Culture meets with the Governor of Luxor to discuss intensifying cooperation
Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, stressed the Ministry’s keenness to strengthen the frameworks of cooperation and full coordination with the governorates, as it is one of the main axes for achieving cultural justice and spreading culture in various parts of the country, noting that Luxor Governorate possesses a unique civilizational and cultural asset that qualifies it to be a major center for major cultural and artistic events.
He added that the next stage will witness the intensification of programs and activities that support talent and preserve heritage in all its forms.
For his part, Engineer Abdel Muttalib Amara, Governor of Luxor, confirmed that cooperation with the Ministry of Culture represents a fundamental pillar for supporting the cultural scene in the governorate, appreciating the state of the cultural movement that Luxor has witnessed during the recent period, coinciding with the governorate’s celebrations of its National Day. He explained that the governorate is keen to provide all aspects of support for the success of cultural events, stressing that culture is one of the important drivers of sustainable development and strengthening national identity.
The meeting discussed a number of cultural axes of common interest, most notably developing activities provided through cultural palaces and houses, supporting popular and heritage arts, and expanding the implementation of cultural and artistic events targeting various age and societal groups. This enhances the role of culture in building awareness and consolidating the values of belonging. The two sides also discussed ways to support initiatives concerned with preserving intangible cultural heritage and heritage industries, in addition to enhancing the hosting of cultural and artistic events in a way that contributes to linking culture and tourism and highlighting the cultural image of Egypt.
The two sides agreed on the importance of intensifying cultural cooperation during the next stage, by preparing joint work programs that contribute to expanding the base of community participation in cultural activities, and enhancing attendance at specific events that highlight the cultural and civilizational specificity of Luxor, in line with the state’s vision in this regard.
