Called the mayor of Kyiv Vitaly KlitschkoToday, Friday, residents of the Ukrainian capital had to leave it temporarily, after Russian raids caused the heating to be cut off in half of the residential buildings in the capital, which is witnessing a cold wave that is expected to intensify with temperatures reaching 8 degrees Celsius below zero.
Klitschko said on social media platforms that half of Kiev’s residential buildings, or approximately 6,000 buildings, are currently suffering from a heating outage as a result of the damage to the capital’s vital infrastructure, as a result of a large-scale attack launched by Russia.
He added: I appeal to residents of the capital who have the ability to leave the city temporarily to places where alternative sources of energy and heating are available, to do so.
Russia is bombed with an Oreshnik missile
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Russian bombing killed 4 people, and damaged at least 20 residential buildings in Kiev and its suburbs.
Meanwhile, Moscow announced that it targeted strategic targets using the Oreshnik missile, justifying the strike as what it said was a response to a Ukrainian drone attack that targeted the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
