
Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed, on Tuesday, Iraq’s full support for Lebanon’s unity and sovereignty, and its rejection of the Israeli aggression on its territory.
Al-Sudani explained, during his meeting with the new Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to Iraq, Khalil Abdullah Muhammad, according to the Iraqi News Agency “INA”, Iraq’s keenness to raise the level of bilateral relations, and to enhance partnership and cooperation in various fields, in a way that reflects positively on the higher interests of the two brotherly peoples, on the path to development and prosperity.
He stressed “the importance of joint action to reduce escalation and contain tension in the region, by adopting dialogue to address crises and contribute to maintaining security and stability.”
For his part, the Lebanese ambassador to Iraq expressed his country’s appreciation for Iraq’s positions in support of the Lebanese people, stressing Lebanon’s endeavor to continue distinguished relations with Iraq in a way that serves common interests.
