The husband of the Italian tourist who died from her injuries in a collision between two tourist boats refused to leave his wife’s body, or allow it to be moved anywhere else except in his personal presence, after the end of all official investigations.
Sources revealed to Cairo 24 the details of the last moments of the tourist bidding farewell to his wife, as the husband took off his wife’s ring from his late wife’s finger to keep it as a memory. He also strongly insisted on keeping the “marriage pact” and their papers, assuring the medical team and the investigation authorities of his desire to accompany the body step by step until it is delivered to the embassy and shipped to Italy.
A strict requirement from the husband regarding the procedures for transporting the body to the embassy
These humanitarian developments come in conjunction with the tourism companies evacuating the passengers of the two floating hotels (both sides of the accident) via tourist buses, and housing them in fixed hotels to complete their tourism program. The body of the victim (50 years old) is being transported to the morgue of the Taiba Specialized Hospital affiliated with the Health Care Authority, after she died from her wounds in the accident that occurred in the navigation channel of the Nile River in Esna.
The Public Prosecution continues its extensive investigations into the incident, while the concerned authorities respect the husband’s wishes and psychological state, and work to complete the legal and diplomatic procedures quickly and accurately to enable him to return the body of his life partner to their homeland.
