Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, held a meeting with representatives of Gepto Pharma, headed by Dr. Amr Mamdouh, Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, and the Chinese Gan & Li Company, headed by Du Cai, CEO of the Chinese Gan & Li Company, to discuss ways of joint cooperation in the field of localization of advanced pharmaceutical industries in Egypt.

The meeting dealt with localizing the long-acting insulin industry in Egypt, expanding local production, and enhancing investment in the national pharmaceutical sector. Plans related to providing priority vital pharmaceutical preparations to patients and transferring modern technology to the Egyptian industry were also reviewed.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Ghamrawi stressed the continuous support provided by the Authority to national and international industrial partners, and the importance of localizing the long-acting insulin industry in Egypt, in which Gepto Pharma plays a strategic national role.

Strengthening the local pharmaceutical production system

Al-Ghamrawi explained that the Authority is working to strengthen the local pharmaceutical production system, stressing that the localization of the pharmaceutical industry represents a pivotal step towards achieving self-sufficiency in vital medicines, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry at the regional and international levels, indicating that the Authority will continue to provide all forms of technical and regulatory support to ensure the success of this strategic partnership and achieve the maximum benefit for patients and investors alike.

For their part, the delegation expressed its deep appreciation to the Authority, stressing that the continued support provided by the Egyptian Medicines Authority contributes decisively to strengthening international partnerships and transferring the latest pharmaceutical technology to Egypt.

They praised the Authority’s strategic vision and efforts aimed at developing the national industry, stressing their commitment to providing the latest pharmaceutical innovations to the Egyptian market, in a way that serves patients and supports national pharmaceutical security.

The meeting comes within the framework of the strategic direction of the state and the Egyptian Medicines Authority to enhance national drug security and meet patients’ needs for complex medicines locally, thus consolidating Egypt’s position as a leading regional center in the manufacture and circulation of medicines.
