In continuation of the program to prepare the first handball team for the World Championship scheduled to be held in January 2027, an agreement was reached with the Icelandic Handball Federation to hold two friendly matches in Egypt during the international week next May, on May 13 and 15, as part of the strong contact plan in preparation for the World Cup.
The Egyptian Handball Federation, headed by Captain Khaled Fathi, also agreed to play two more friendly matches against Iceland next January on Icelandic soil, immediately before the start of the World Championship, in order to ensure the maximum degree of technical and physical readiness for the players.
It should be noted that our national team will face Germany, the European runner-up, in two friendly matches to be held in Germany next March, as part of the intensive program of preparation and facing strong European schools before the global event.
