Price stabilized US dollar Against the pound today, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, a few hours before the start of bank transactions, it recorded levels of less than 47 pounds for purchase in a number of banks operating in the banking sector.
Today’s dollar price in banks
The price of the dollar at the Commercial International Bank (CIB) recorded about 46.95 pounds for purchase and 47.05 pounds for sale, while at the Arab African International Bank it reached 46.93 pounds for purchase and 47.03 pounds for sale.
In the National Bank of Egypt and Faisal Islamic Bank, the dollar recorded 46.92 pounds for purchase and 47.02 pounds for sale.
The United Bank, Housing and Development Bank, and Qatar National Bank (QNB) also recorded about 46.90 pounds for purchase and 47.00 pounds for sale.
The lowest price for the dollar at Al Baraka Bank was 46.85 pounds for purchase and 46.95 pounds for sale.
In another context, the Central Bank reported, in its report issued in the statistical bulletin, that Egypt paid its external debt service obligations, which include interest and installments, with a total value amounting to $38.736 billion during the fiscal year 2024/2025.
The report indicated that debt service payments were distributed at $7.952 billion during the first quarter of the fiscal year, $13.354 billion in the second quarter, and $8.784 billion during the third quarter, in addition to $8.645 billion in the fourth quarter.
