Major General Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, said in press statements today that South Sinai Governorate succeeded during the year 2025 in creating an attractive investment climate for capital, based on a strong infrastructure, security stability, and a clear development vision.

The governor confirmed that investment projects have been attracted and implemented, some of which have been fully completed and some of which are about to be completed, with a total investment amounting to 207,987,063 pounds.

The governor revealed that there are investment projects being implemented in 2026, and there is a major investment package whose procedures are currently being finalized and implemented, with an estimated value of about 700 million pounds, which reflects investors’ confidence in the future development of the governorate.

Regarding the investment map and Vision 2026, the governor explained that an integrated investment map has been prepared for the new year 2026, which includes 58 various investment opportunities that will be presented to Egyptian, Arab and foreign investors, and their value is expected to exceed 500 million pounds, and includes the sectors of tourism, trade, and service projects, in accordance with the principles of green sustainable development.

He pointed out that there is a facilitating investment climate and support for investors, as the South Sinai Governorate places the investor at its top priority as an authentic partner in sustainable development, while being aware of the special nature of the governorate and the coordination measures it may impose with multiple parties.

In this context, it was done:
• Opening direct and permanent channels of communication with investors and concerned parties.
• Establishing an Investor Licensing Office to facilitate procedures.
• Allocating a special window for the investor within all technology centers in the General Office and local units.
• Preparing an investor’s guide, as a comprehensive reference that includes investment opportunities, and the human and natural resources, in each city of the governorate.

Infrastructure projects, water, sanitation, and utilities

The governor pointed out that drinking water and sanitation projects witnessed an unprecedented construction revolution during the year 2025, aimed at securing the needs of citizens and investors for decades to come.

In the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, “Land of Peace,” a new desalination plant was established with a capacity ranging from 30 to 60 thousand m3/day, ensuring that citizens’ water needs are met and providing better service to tourists, especially during peak tourist periods in Sharm El-Sheikh.

In the marine intake project, a marine intake with a capacity of 35 thousand m3/day was created to feed the (Al-Shabab, Nabq, and New Nabq) stations, which ensures the stability of the quality of the water provided and its availability.

In the treatment plant: Implementing expansions with a capacity of 7,500 m3/day, in order to improve the sewage service in Sharm El Sheikh.

The city of Taba has witnessed many achievements. Therefore, a new desalination plant with a capacity of 5,000 m3 was established, and a 2.8 km long feeder line to Taba is also being implemented, to end any challenges that the city was facing in the past and improve service for tourist facilities and citizens.

In the city of Nuweiba, high-pressure compensation pumps in the old desalination plant with a capacity of 10,000 m3/day were replaced and renewed to maintain production efficiency.

In the city of Ras Sidr, integrated water and sewage systems “desalination, lifting, and treatment” were operated in the development communities (Al-Hamma, Al-Suhaimi, Al-Nihayat), in addition to replacing and renovating the old “Ras Masla” lift and developing water networks on the association’s land. This project serves as an integrated service for the citizen, which encourages population stability and contributes to increasing the agricultural area in Sinai.

As for the city of Saint Catherine: approximately 6,250 linear meters of polyethylene lines were replaced and renewed between Station 11 and 29 in Abourdis, and 4 pumps were replaced and renewed at stations in the Ferran and Saint Catherine axis, in addition to the replacement of the water hammer at Station 11, and 6 lifting units are being replaced, renewed and installed at Station 29.

Emphasis was also placed on establishing sub-networks, home connections, and sewage networks in communities, such as: “Al-Asqouf, Al-Zaytouna, Al-Nusra, Al-Isba’iyah, and Al-Kharazin,” and work is underway in Al-Shamiya, to ensure that the service reaches the people of these communities.

The governor explained that these projects provide an improvement in the health and environmental standards of our people in these communities, and protect the unique environment of St. Catherine in conjunction with serving the Great Transfiguration Project.

It has also achieved goals that we always strive for, including: “providing job opportunities for youth – ensuring a strong infrastructure for investors – and granting the citizen his right to a clean cup of water – a decent sanitation system.”

The governor noted the achievements made in roads and development axes. Giant road projects were implemented aimed at enhancing traffic flow and raising safety levels:

• Development of the Nuweiba-Dahab road.
• Expansion of the Sharm El Sheikh – Dahab road.
• Expanding the Dahab entrance to a length of 6.5 km at a cost of 120 million pounds.
• Developing the Ramla entrance, 17.5 km long, at a cost of 156 million pounds.
• Construction of the Hammam Moussa Road, 2.5 km long, at a cost of 127 million pounds.
• Implementing 16.5 km of internal roads at a cost of 203 million pounds.
• Flood protection projects at a cost of 172 million pounds
