I fell Türkiye And Saudi Arabia, a memorandum of understanding regarding the joint production of the Jukbey multi-mission helicopter in the Kingdom, on the sidelines of the World Defense Exhibition currently being held in Riyadh.
This is the first agreement for joint production of the Gokbay helicopter outside Türkiye.
According to Turkish media, the memorandum of understanding concluded between the Turkish Aerospace and Aerospace Industries Company (Tusas), the Saudi Ministry of Investment, and the General Authority for Military Industries in the Kingdom includes long-term joint production between the two sides, to be based on advanced technological gains.
Saudi-Turkish cooperation in helicopter production
The Saudi Ministry of Investment and the General Authority for Military Industries will collect applications for helicopters to meet various needs in the military and civil fields.
Tossash Company will carry out the production of the required helicopters within the Kingdom in cooperation with a local factory, provided that the scope and details of joint production will be determined according to the nature of the requests.
The jointly produced helicopters will also be exportable to neighboring countries.
The Gokbay, a Turkish-made helicopter developed by Tosas, was designed to meet civilian needs. Among the most prominent tasks it can perform are transporting people, search and rescue, border control, air ambulance, firefighting, and security operations inside and outside the country.
Türkiye announced the new version of Gokby in June 2023, and this model is called T925.
