Today, the Egyptian national team opens its campaign in the Arab Cup championship when it faces its counterpart, the Kuwaiti national team, in the framework of the first round of the group stage of the tournament held in Qatar during the period from 1 to 18 December.
The Egyptian national team is competing in the Arab Cup championship in the third group, which also includes the Jordanian, Emirati and Kuwaiti national teams.
It is expected that the Egyptian national team will start its match against Kuwait with the following formation: –
Goalkeeper: Mohamed Awad
Defense: Karim Fouad – Mahmoud Al-Wansh – Yassin Marei – Karim Al-Iraqi
Midfield: Mohamed Elneny – Akram Tawfiq – Afsha – Islam Issa
Attack: Marawan Hamdy – Mohamed Sharif
In another context, the crisis that broke out between Ahmed Atef, the Zed striker, and the technical staff of the Egyptian national team participating in the tournament, ended Arab CupDue to the player’s statements following the decision to exclude him from the national team’s roster and replace him with Pyramids player Marawan Hamdy.
In statements to Cairo 24, sources revealed that Ahmed Atef apologized to Helmy Tolan, the coach of the Egyptian national team participating in the Arab Cup, after his statements following his exclusion from the list.
The sources added that Helmy Toulan and the national team staff accepted the player Ahmed Atef’s apology and expressed their understanding of the circumstances in which he made those statements.
The sources indicated that Helmy Tolan retracted his previous decision to remove the player from the camp and deport him to Cairo, and decided to keep the player with the rest of the players until the end of the team’s journey in the tournament.
