The delegations of Iran and the United States left the negotiating headquarters in Geneva, following the end of a new session of discussions on the Iranian nuclear file, according to media reports.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi confirmed that today’s negotiations were concluded after significant progress was made between the two sides, noting that technical discussions will be held next week in Vienna.
The Omani minister added that negotiations will resume after the two delegations return to consult with officials of the two countries, as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to reach an understanding regarding the Iranian nuclear program.
For its part, Iranian television reported that the American delegation left the negotiation headquarters in Geneva after the end of the round, without an official joint statement being issued by the two parties yet.
Witkoff held direct talks with Araghchi in Geneva
In a related context, the US Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, held direct talks during the third round of US-Iranian nuclear negotiations in Geneva, according to what a source told CNN.
The source did not reveal the duration of the talks or their detailed agenda, as reports pointed out that negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program are usually conducted indirectly, with the Sultanate of Oman mediating between the American and Iranian delegations instead of a direct meeting.
