The curse of injuries haunts Pyramids before facing Zamalek in the Premier League
Mostafa Fathi, the team’s playmaker, suffered a dislocated collarbone during Helwan’s friendly match, and tomorrow he will undergo surgery to determine the duration of his absence from the stadiums.
Winger Mahmoud Zalaka also missed Helwan’s friendly match after suffering a severe bruise in his calf during the last training session, and he is currently undergoing a physical therapy and rehabilitation program.
Likewise, Moroccan right-back Mohamed El-Shibi left Helwan’s friendly match ten minutes before the end of the second half after feeling pain in his knee, and had to undergo x-rays and tests to reassure himself.
The absence of defender Mahmoud Merhi continues as he continues his rehabilitation from the torn back injury that he suffered recently, due to which he missed the last matches.
The Helwan friendly match also witnessed the first official participation of Moroccan Walid El Karti, for only 10 minutes, since he suffered a tear in his posterior muscle during the Haras El Hodood match in the league since last March 5.
The long absence of international left back Mohamed Hamdi from the field continues for several months after undergoing cruciate ligament surgery, and he is currently undergoing muscle strengthening operations as part of the rehabilitation program.
