The benefits of diet in reducing the incidence of prostate diseases
According to what was published by The Sun website, there are some foods and drinks that affect prostate health due to their effect on testosterone and other hormones.
Research has indicated that following a diet rich in whole fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats improves prostate health and slows its growth.
Among the most prominent foods are the following:
Salmon: It is rich in healthy fats that contain omega-3 fatty acids, which help prevent and reduce inflammation in the body. Other cold-water fish, such as sardines, are also rich in these types of fats.
Tomatoes: Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, an antioxidant that may benefit prostate gland cells. Cooking tomatoes, such as in tomato sauce or soup, helps release lycopene and makes it more easily absorbed by the body.
Berries: Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are excellent sources of antioxidants, which help get rid of free radicals in the body. Free radicals are byproducts of reactions that occur within the body and can cause damage and disease over time.
Broccoli: Broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables, including bok choy, cauliflower, cabbage, and cabbage, contain a chemical known as sulforaphane. This substance is thought to target cancer cells and promote prostate health.
