The President explained that Lebanon fully committed to the ceasefire agreement, noting that this commitment reflects the state’s keenness to protect internal stability, despite the continued Israeli attacks and existing security challenges.
A government achievement in the arms inventory file
He pointed out that the government has achieved a major achievement in the issue of confiscating weapons in the hands of the state, stressing that this file represents an essential pillar in building a strong state capable of enforcing the law and protecting its citizens.
The army has been imposing security for more than 10 months
The President pointed out that the armed forces were able to impose their control over the southern Litani area more than 10 months ago, and succeeded in securing it completely, thus enhancing the stability of the south and preventing its use in any actions that threaten security.
Implementing the first phase despite the challenges
He stressed that the first phase of the arms control plan was implemented successfully, despite the difficult regional circumstances, explaining that the state is continuing on this path without retreat.
The state is under one authority
The President stressed that the ultimate goal is the return of the entire Lebanese state under one authority, considering that the unity of security and military decision-making is a basic condition for the country’s stability and renaissance.
The south is under the control of the army only
He concluded his statements by emphasizing that the state’s top priority is to ensure that the south remains exclusively under the control of the Lebanese army, in addition to working to restore Lebanon to its Arab, regional and international status, and preparing for a comprehensive renaissance phase that will restore confidence in the state and its institutions.
