He fell Egyptian Agricultural BankA cooperation protocol with the Fund for Confronting Medical Emergencies and Genetic and Rare Diseases, affiliated with the Council of Ministers, and the Ministry of Health and Population, under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt, with the aim of eliminating waiting lists for corneal transplant operations, to enable patients who are unable to regain their sight, and to alleviate their suffering during waiting periods, in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, to eliminate waiting lists, to alleviate the suffering of patients with critical cases and urgent surgeries, and this comes within the framework of his national role and societal responsibility.
The Agricultural Bank of Egypt signs a protocol to eliminate corneal transplant waiting lists
Under the protocol, the Agricultural Bank of Egypt supports covering the costs of purchasing corneas for incapable patients, helping them regain their sight, through the Medical Emergency Response Fund, and providing critical surgical interventions for cases not covered by health insurance, which contributes to improving the quality of health services and reducing the burden on Egyptian families.

The protocol was signed by Mira Youssef, Head of the Corporate Communications Group at the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, and Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Aty, Executive Director of the Medical Emergency Response Fund, in the presence of Mohamed Abu Al-Saud, CEO of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, Sami Abdel Sadiq, Executive Vice President, Ghada Tawfiq, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank for Social Responsibility, and a number of leaders of the bank and the Ministry of Health.
During the signing ceremony, Mohamed Abu Al-Saud stressed that this protocol represents a new step to emphasize the societal role of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, in supporting the health care sector, and contributing to supporting pioneering initiatives, to improve the quality of health services provided to citizens, and to contribute to facilitating access to them, praising the humanitarian role of the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to eliminate waiting lists, to alleviate the suffering of incapable patients, and to perform critical and urgent surgical operations with the highest quality, and as quickly as possible.

Abu Al-Saud explained that, according to the cooperation protocol, the bank contributes during the first phase to purchasing corneas for more than 250 cases, through the Unified Purchasing Authority in coordination with the Medical Emergency Response Fund, where operations are performed in government, private and private hospitals, in order to provide a decent life for citizens and help them regain the blessing of sight.
For his part, Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Ati stressed that this protocol represents the culmination of cooperation efforts between the Ministry of Health and the banking sector in supporting health initiatives, alleviating the suffering of patients, providing sustainable financing for surgical operations, expanding the segment of beneficiary patients, and contributing to reducing waiting periods for critical cases, including corneal transplant operations.
He pointed out that cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt, during the last period, contributed to the implementation of about 750 corneal transplant operations, and more than 1,000 cases will be completed with the support of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, which leads to reducing the waiting period for corneal transplant operations to less than two months, after it had been for years. This is a major achievement that is credited to the parties contributing to this initiative.
Mira Youssef said: We are proud of our contribution to this pioneering initiative, to realize the dream of hundreds of patients who have been deprived of the blessing of sight for many years, and to help them regain hope and the ability to live normally, through the Agricultural Bank of Egypt’s contribution to eliminating waiting lists for corneal transplant operations.
Mira Youssef pointed out the importance of the role played by the Central Bank of Egypt, based on its societal responsibility, to support health initiatives and provide decent health care for the most vulnerable groups, appreciating the efforts of Ghada Tawfiq, Deputy Governor for Social Responsibility, in choosing humanitarian initiatives supported by the banking sector, which aim to bring about integrated human development, to build the Egyptian citizen, and improve the quality of his life.
