A source inside Zamalek Club revealed the features of the team’s plan to face Zed next, in the fifth round of the Egyptian Capital Cup, which is scheduled to be held next Sunday, at the Arab Contractors Stadium.

How will Zamalek face Zed in the Egyptian Capital Cup?

The source confirmed, in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that the technical staff had largely settled on playing the match with a mixed formation that included elements of senior players alongside a number of youth players, in order to achieve a positive result and score match points, without risking complete reliance on the youth team.

The source explained that the past few hours witnessed the escalation of a large number of players from the youth sector, with their number reaching about 10 players, to participate in training with the senior players who attended training yesterday, after the team received a five-day rest.

He added that the training witnessed the participation of most of the players in Cairo, with the exception of the injured, as well as some elements who were rested with the permission of the technical staff.

The source pointed out that the trend within Zamalek is to appear with a balanced formation that combines experience and enthusiasm, especially in light of the fear of repeating the scenario of the last match against Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, which the team played with a squad of young men, during which it was defeated by three goals.

The source concluded his statements by emphasizing that the confrontation with Zed will witness temporary technical leadership, after Zamalek Club announced that Motamed Gamal would assume the position of technical director of the team, assisted by Ibrahim Salah as assistant coach, until it is settled on contracting with a foreign technical director to lead the team during the coming period.
