face Tariq Al-Sayed The former Zamalek star and Egypt national team appealed to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regarding Zamalek’s land in 6th of October City after the decision to withdraw it.

Tarek Al-Sayed’s appeal to President Sisi

Tariq Al-Sayed wrote on his official Facebook account: His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt… a greeting of appreciation and respect.

He continued: I address you today as one of the sons of the Zamalek Club, which was never just a sports club, but rather was and will remain one of the pillars of Egypt’s soft power and one of its most important symbols at home and abroad, a club that brought joy to Egyptians and raised the nation’s name high in continental and international forums for many decades.

He added: Mr. President, the Zamalek Club is today going through the harshest and most dangerous crises in its history, crushing and successive crises that threaten its existence, stability and career, not only as a major club, but as a national entity that represents a wide segment of Egypt’s fans, and the most dangerous of these crises is related to the withdrawal of the club’s land in 6th of October City, which threatens the club’s administrative and financial stability and strikes the future of its future generations.
Zamalek, Mr. President, is not just a club competing for championships.

He continued: Zamalek is the second pole of Egyptian football next to Al-Ahly Club, and together they are the face that always honors Egypt in international forums, and the collapse of one of them necessarily means the entire image of Egyptian sports will be shaken, and even the loss of one of the most important pillars of its soft power.

He added: We do not ask for privileges, nor do we seek support outside the framework of the law. We only appeal to the justice of the state and the care of the political leadership to save an ancient entity that is exposed to harsh pressures that may afflict it, make millions of fans lose hope, and cause death to the sports system.

He added: Mr. President, we place in your hands this sincere humanitarian and national appeal, calling on you to intervene to direct the Ministry of Housing to return the Zamalek Club land in Sheikh Zayed to the club’s ownership again, in order to preserve the stability of one of the largest African and Arab clubs, and to preserve a history that extends for decades of achievements, championships, and sacrifices.

He continued: Saving Zamalek today is saving an integral part of Egypt’s sporting history, protecting an invaluable national value, and supporting the stability of Egyptian football, whose strength is not complete unless its two great poles are together.

He concluded by saying: We trust in your wisdom, we bet on your patriotism, and we believe that the political leadership will not allow the fall of an entity the size of Zamalek. May God protect Egypt, preserve its sports, and preserve its ancient clubs.
