Hossam Hassan, the technical director, announced For the Egyptian national team The first football team, the Pharaohs’ formation to face the Zimbabwe national team, in the first round match of the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco.
The Zamalek duo are not included in the Egyptian national team’s roster for the match against Zimbabwe
Hossam Hassan excluded two Egyptian national team players from the Pharaohs’ list for the match against Zimbabwe, namely the Zamalek duo, goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi and defender Mohamed Ismail. The exclusion of the duo came due to the text of the CAF regulation, which allows each team to keep only a maximum of 15 players on the bench. Therefore, the technical staff of the Egyptian national team was forced to exclude two from the final list for the match, which will be repeated in the upcoming matches.
The basic formation was as follows:
Goalkeeper: Mohamed El-Shenawy
Defense line: Mohamed Hani – Yasser Ibrahim – Hossam Abdel Majeed – Mohamed Hamdi
Midfield: Marwan Attia – Hamdi Fathi – Emam Ashour
Offensive line: Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet – Mohamed Salah – Omar Marmoush
On the bench: Ahmed El-Shenawy – Mustafa Schubert – Rami Rabia – Ahmed Eid – Khaled Sobhi – Ahmed Fattouh – Mohamed Shehata – Muhannad Lashin – Mahmoud Saber – Ahmed Sayed Zizo – Mustafa Fathi – Osama Faisal – Ibrahim Adel – Salah Mohsen – Mustafa Mohamed.
It is worth noting that the team will play its second and third matches in Group Two on December 26 and 29 against South Africa and then Angola, also at Adar Stadium.
