Aramco’s SAMREF refinery was exposed Saudi Arabia In Yanbu, there was an air attack, according to what was published by Reuters, indicating that the effect was limited.
The attack came after a warning issued by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard calling for the evacuation of a number of oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, including the targeted refinery, in light of a continuing escalation targeting the energy sector in the region, according to Reuters.
The city of Yanbu is currently gaining increasing importance as a major port for oil exports, after the disruption of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of global supplies pass.
