He met Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, met today, Sunday, February 22, with Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation.

Minister Abdel-Aty stressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ keenness to expand areas of partnership with the Academy, especially in training, capacity building, and developing cadres in various sectors, in a way that supports Egypt’s development priorities and enhances Arab and international cooperation in these areas.

The meeting also discussed ways to enhance cooperation with the Academy on the African continent, through implementing training and research programs and building the capabilities of African cadres, in a way that supports development priorities in African countries and enhances Arab-African cooperation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also noted the important role played by the Academy as a pioneering institution in education and scientific research, and its contribution to preparing qualified cadres to meet the needs of the regional and international labor market.

For his part, Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar expressed his appreciation for the existing coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressing the academy’s readiness to deepen cooperation in training and research programs and joint initiatives, in a way that achieves sustainable development goals and serves common interests.
