The Mansoura Court of Appeal decided to refer the papers of a woman and her lover to the Mufti of the Republic, to obtain a legal opinion on their execution. They were accused of intentionally killing a person with premeditation and apprehension, inside the village of Abu Nour al-Din, affiliated with the Stamouni Center in Dakahlia Governorate, and a next session was set for sentencing.
The decision was issued under the chairmanship of the Saudi Counselor Youssef El-Sherbiny, with the membership of the Counselors Abdullah Abdullah Mutawa, Mr. Abdo Mansour, and Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Dayem, and in the secretariat of Mahmoud Al-Sayed Mahmoud and Mr. Mustafa Ragab, in Case No. 7408 of 2024 Al-Stamouni Felony, registered under No. 2812 of 2024 in North Mansoura.
The Attorney General of the North Mansoura Public Prosecution referred the victim’s wife and her lover to criminal trial. They were accused of intentionally ending his life after planning and premeditation.
The referral order stated that the two defendants had the intention and determined to commit the crime, and prepared for that purpose a white weapon (a knife) and two tools (an ax and a stone), and they ambushed the victim where he was, and as soon as they overpowered him, they assaulted him, as the second defendant struck him with a stone in the head, then the first defendant stabbed him several times in the back, before they beat him with an ax tool. As a result, he was seriously injured and claimed his life.
Investigations revealed that eyewitnesses heard the victim’s cries for help, and he was found lying on the ground, drowning in his blood, with head injuries and various stab wounds, while investigations confirmed that the accused had committed the incident, and that the tools used at the scene were seized.
The forensic report indicated that death resulted from a severe traumatic injury to the head, which was accompanied by damage to brain tissue and a severe drop in blood and respiratory circulation, in addition to the presence of stab wounds and scattered cuts on the body.
