A water mist causes the closure of the regional road in Menoufia
The water mist had caused a decrease in the level of horizontal visibility on the regional road, which prompted the competent authorities to take a precautionary decision to temporarily close the gates, in order to preserve the lives of citizens and prevent possible traffic accidents, especially in the sectors close to the main entrances to the governorate.
The decision to reopen the road came after a field monitoring of the weather condition, and the competent authorities confirmed that visibility had improved and the atmosphere had returned to normal, allowing traffic to operate in a safe manner, with traffic monitoring continuing around the clock.
The concerned authorities stressed the need for drivers to adhere to the set speeds, leave safe distances between cars, and not to rush, especially during the early morning periods, which sometimes witness sudden water mist, with the necessity of turning on the headlights and following traffic instructions.
The presence of traffic services has also been intensified on the regional road and the main intersection points, to monitor traffic movement and intervene immediately in the event of any emergency, in addition to continuous coordination with the operations rooms to monitor weather conditions immediately.
It is noteworthy that Menoufia Governorate witnesses during this period weather fluctuations, which sometimes cause water mist to form, especially on highways and agricultural roads, which requires taking rapid preventive measures to ensure the safety of road users.
