Hanan Magdy, Governor of the New Valley, met with a delegation from the Upper Egypt Development Authority, in the presence of Dr. Rawda Youssef, head of the Upper Egypt Development Authority branch in the governorate. This is in light of his recent meeting with the head of the authority in Cairo to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides and support a number of development projects in the governorate.
Establishing a factory complex on an area of 100 acres
The governor stated that the meeting discussed the establishment of a factory complex on an area of 100 acres to serve the people of the governorate and provide job opportunities. It also witnessed the follow-up of ongoing and planned projects between the governorate and the authority, most notably the development of the dates complex in Kharga. This will contribute to raising the efficiency of its operation by seeking the expertise of the private sector, in addition to the operational position of the Zamat bagel production factory in the city of Kharga, which is scheduled to open in the coming days, and the craft industrial complex in the Balat Center, and the implementation of a recycling plant for agricultural waste.
The governor stressed the necessity of accelerating the pace of work and focusing on the targeted files so that they enter into force as soon as possible for the benefit of the governorate and its people, pointing out that all aspects of support will be provided to complete the projects and attract serious investments, which will contribute to maximizing the benefit of the governorate’s economic and natural resources and providing additional job opportunities for the people of the New Valley.
